Congratulations to Maverney Jones who was runner up in last week’s Women in Security Awards in the category “Frontline Officer of the Year”.
CIS are very proud of Maverney, who has already scooped the ACS Officer of Distinction Award this year as well as the CIS London’s Air Ambulance Award which celebrates those who have made a potentially lifesaving intervention in the course of their professional duties.
Having worked at CIS since 2010 at The University of East London, Maverney has proved herself to be a dependable and dedicated Officer. Her commitment and resilience is second to none and she has intervened on many challenging incidents at this busy site
Maverney found herself at the centre of a serious incident in the line of duty where she saved a student’s life at the Dockside with the assistance of paramedics. The young person had just lost a friend and was extremely depressed. With timely intervention and assistance from paramedics they were able to stop the person from jumping into the river and risking drowning or exposure.
Well done to Maverney, a fantastic role model for anyone entering the security industry.
