Overview

You will learn all the basics of Human Resource Management, particularly supporting the on-boarding and security vetting all new staff. Key areas of responsibility:

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Campus Contract Manager,  who will provide strategic management support to Goldsmiths Stakeholders to reduce security risks to the University. Manage and develop the Security team in all areas of Security and maintain close working relations with all College Stakeholders at all times.

Specific Managerial Responsibilities

 

Assume responsibility for the entire role in line with this job description.

Effectively manage site Security Operations and Control Centre Customer Service to ensure that the team are working in line with site policies and procedures at all times. Ensure that the Client and there are fully briefed and updated regarding any Security related issues that arise.

Manage all site training as required ensuring wherever possible training is performed during weekdays although as Goldsmiths operate a 24/7 working pattern some out of hours training will be required. Ensure that training records are maintained and updated with a detailed robust Training Matrix compiled for easy reference. Conduct a monthly audit of training policies and procedures ensuring all Officers working on the site are fully trained to contractual obligations. Maintain a detailed working knowledge of Security operations under your management.

Ensure the Security team deliver high standards by monitoring performance levels against set customer KPI’s. Ensure performance management processes are in place and adhered to do to sustain these goals.

Manage and coordinate random Penetration/Security tests to ensure Officers are adhering to site policies and procedures. Compile a report and submit to the CIS Regional Director.

Identify and report all site related risks providing professional advice to reduce any associated security risk to the client, campus and all associated stakeholders

Support and advise on any new security projects.

Campus Development

 

Develop a Strategic Business Development Plan for Goldsmiths to be reviewed on a six monthly basis with the client.

 

Set Key Performance Indicators for all Campus Security operations and systems. Including: equipment, usage, repairs and work in progress/supported by Systems Operators

 

Manage Soft data on Security Patrols (MOCO), Manpower Attendance/ Special Events/Energy interventions/Initiatives & Motivations

Detailed Campus Crime data including trend reporting – Reporting to CIS Regional Director

Specific Management of the MOCO Patrol System. Check that all patrols for the previous day have been completed in line with requirements and all incidents are reported. Ensuring that all equipment on site is working correctly and arrange repair if necessary.

Maintain and control budget including invoicing, training, ad hoc hours, uniform and holiday.

Attend monthly Security Review meetings with the Client providing reports on all Security related matters, budgetary controls and future Security plans.

Management of site radio equipment and maintenance of the radio inventory system. Conduct a weekly equipment check to ensure all equipment is accounted for and working correctly. Report faulty equipment and arrange for repair as required. Ensure the Radio Issue Procedure is carried out and maintained in line with client’s requirements.

Effective management of the night and weekend Managers/Officers, including ad hoc night/weekend visits to evaluate service delivery and staff welfare.

Maintain a detailed working knowledge of night and weekend Security operations under their management.

Ensure that fire alarm tests and Security lighting tests are carried out and a recorded as requested.

Conduct regular one to one staff meetings with a view to evaluating staff welfare and job satisfaction. Document all findings and address accordingly.

Ensure equipment calibration and servicing, such as CCTV, timepieces and access control equipment.

Support the Client by attending all internal weekly/monthly and quarterly meetings to discuss any site Security issues that may arise. Minutes are to be produced for each meeting attended and forwarded to CIS Security Regional Director.

Produce, maintain and develop an annual Business Development Plan for the service provision.

General Management Responsibilities

 

Set high personal standards for others to follow.

Ensure all contract manning requirements are managed and achieved on a weekly basis. Manage all requests for additional Security cover and where necessary obtain only additional trained staff.

Ensure that all contractual requirements are fulfilled on a daily basis and maintain up to date records of it.

Demonstrate proactive management of the Security Team.

Ensure all log books and registers are maintained in accordance with the Company and the Client requirements.

Ensure that all Security personnel under your management are fully acquainted with the Assignment Instructions, Emergency Procedures and any other instructions issued by CIS Security/Client.

Ensure that all appropriate keys, equipment and documentation are properly accounted for. Conduct a regular Key Audit.

Provide coaching and mentoring to the Security team.

Maintain a good level of morale and discipline within the team, taking into consideration their welfare.

Ensure that all staff under their supervision are regularly briefed.

Conduct annual and interim staff appraisals to establish succession planning and skill gap analysis. Ensure all meetings are fully documented and staff development plans are in line with site and company requirements.

Liaise with the Operations Manager on all matters relating to the Security of the premises, reporting on matters of discipline and welfare.

Assist CIS Security to maintain good client relations through regular personal contact.

Ensure that adequate handover procedures take place at shift change and that all keys, equipment and documentation are properly accounted for. This should be recorded in a separate log.  Any discrepancies, faults or malfunctions should be immediately reported to the Regional Director and Client.

Communicate all matters in writing and verbally to all members of staff ensuring continuity.

All contractual hours must be met. Register and log all after hour duties with the Control Centre.
