Blue Monday 2024

Today is Blue Monday ‘allegedly’ the most depressing day of the year, Darcy Fletcher BSc CMgr MCMI CIS Trainer conducted a mental health training day at One Crown Place to provide an understanding of how important our mental health is for a healthy and stable lifestyle.

Andrew Gough stated:

“In January we all want to try and start the year well, but realistically it can be such a tough month for many people. I’m a strong believer in trying to help people as much as I can, and I know from previously attending Mental Health training that its primary goal is to enable us to help each other. It’s great to have Darcy Fletcher at One Crown Place delivering this fantastic training, not only to the security team but to multiple service providers from the estate and other CIS Security Limited members of staff. Thank you to our new Estate Manager James Maynard for providing the space and to CIS for making it happen.”

Darcy Fletcher stated:

“Blue Monday was traditionally known as ‘allegedly’ the most depressing day of the year. However, this concept oversimplifies the complexities of mental health, the good and the complexities. Mental health is not defined by a day, a week, or a colour. What we need to do is work hard to recognise breaking down the stigma and foster chances for honest conversations. This is why we chose today in collaboration with One Crown Place to host a Mental Health First Aider course to encourage change and raise awareness. Thank you to One Crown Place for being great hosts and proactively engaging in this vital training.”

This training was a thrilling success and allowed learners to share their experiences within a safe space, also learning more about themselves, the key symptoms of various mental illnesses and how to spot them. Thank you to James Maynard for providing the space to CIS Security Limited, Andrew Gough for organising such an insightful day and Darcy Fletcher BSc CMgr MCMI for conducting an amazing training session!
