Congratulations to Odia and Ode on the birth of baby Ocean, and well done to our quick thinking CIS Security officers, Ade Oloye and Mohammed Elamine Chabat!
When expectant mother Odia arrived at University Hospital Lewisham in active labour and whilst in the car park, she quickly realised she wouldn’t make it to the birthing unit, and called for help. Without hesitation, Ade stepped in to assist, ensuring a safe and smooth delivery. Moments later, Mohammed arrived to support, keeping mother and baby stable until medical teams took over.
Their quick thinking, compassion, and dedication turned an intense moment into the beautiful and safe arrival of baby Ocean. Ade said, “I felt an immense sense of pride in being able to help at such a crucial moment and play a role in the delivery of baby Ocean. This was a reminder that security colleagues play a much broader role in ensuring the well-being of people, not just through protection but also by offering care and compassion when it matters most. It really is all in a day’s work for us!”
Well done to everyone involved, especially Mum!
