Last week, on May 22, it was Stop the Bleed Day.
CIS Security was proud to support the installation of a publicly accessible bleed control kit in Finsbury Square.
The installation was a community-driven project aimed at strengthening public safety in the area. This life-saving initiative was led by John Salthouse as he coordinated efforts between key stakeholders- securing funding from LME, The Gilbert, and Alphabeta, working closely with FS Garden Bar on installation logistics, and gaining the necessary approvals from Islington Council.
The Old Street District Partnership (BID) kindly agreed to take on custodian responsibilities, ensuring the kit remains accessible and well-maintained going forward.
A special thank you goes to Darcy Fletcher BSc MSc CMgr MCMI, our CIS paramedic, who generously took time out of her busy schedule to demonstrate how to use the kit, with support from Steve Wicks. Their time and knowledge were invaluable in helping the local community feel more confident and prepared in the event of an emergency.
Every second counts in an emergency and knowing how to control severe bleeding can be the difference between life and death.
This project was a collective effort, and it’s heartening to see so many individuals and organisations come together to support a resource that could one day save a life.
